Arrival in Sofia, the capital of Bulgaria. Accommodation and overnight in Sofia.

05 June 2010 SOFIA - PLOVDIV
Sightseeing tour of Sofia, a city with 7000 years long history, concentrating numerous cultural and historic monuments from different periods. Visits of the Alexander Nevsky Cathedral, the St. George Rotunda from the 4 century, the St. Sofia Basilica, the Ruins of Serdica. Departure to Plovdiv. Plovdiv is one of the most ancient towns in Europe, older than Rome. Sightseeing of the Old town of Plovdiv with National Revival architecture and excavations from Roman times. Visit of the ancient Roman theatre with impressive marble statues, decorative columns. Overnight in Plovdiv. /Breakfast and dinner included/

06 June 2010 FULL DAY ROSE FESTIVAL IN KAZANLAK
Early morning departure to the rose fields to experience the Rose picking ritual with rose-pickers dressed in colorful national costumes dancing to the rhythm of Bulgarian folk music to glorify the first Rose blossom. After join the fest in the city center and see the city carnival parade. Barbecue lunch with typical Bulgarian dishes and Bulgarian wine. Visit the replica of the Thracian Tomb of Kazanlak from the 4 century BC , World Heritage site by UNESCO. Late afternoon departure to Sofia. Overnight in Sofia. /Breakfast and lunch included/

Transfer to the airport for departure flight.

07 June 2010 SOFIA - RILA MONASTERY - SOFIA
Departure to the Rila Monastery 10 century, UNESCO World Heritage site, the largest and the most impressive Bulgarian monastery. Tour of the monastery complex, church and museum with its lavish collection of precious old manuscripts, icons, religious objects, and masterpieces of woodcarving.
In the afternoon – return to Sofia. Overnight.

08 June 2010 SOFIA
Transfer to the airport for departure flight.
