Day 01 Arrival in Sofia, the capital of Bulgaria. Transfer to the hotel. Accommodation at hotel. Overnight.
Day 02 SOFIA - SKOPJE
In the morning departure to the Bulgarian-Macedonian border and after to Skopje. Arrival in Skopje. Afternoon Skopje tour. The Stone Bridge – symbol of the city, Skopje fortress Kale, Old Bazaar with inns and hamams, the city centre and main pedestrian zone. Overnight in Skopje.
Day 03 SKOPJE – PRISTINA – PRIZREN – SKOPJE
Starting from Skopje in the morning for a day trip to Kosovo. After border crossing visit of Grachanica Orthodox monastery (UNESCO site). Walking tour in Kosovo capital Prishtina. Departure to Prizren. Afternoon visit of the Prizren bazaar, the stonebridge, the Sinan-Pascha mosque and the UNESCO heritage Church of “Bogorodica Levishka”.
Drive back to Skopje via the mountain road on Shara mountain. Overnight in Skopje.
Day 04 SKOPJE - MAVROVO – OHRID
Morning visit of Matka gorge near Skopje. Drive to Tetovo and visit of the Dappled mosque (15th century). Departure to Mavrovo and drive along Mavrovo lake and canyon of river Radika to the biggest monastery in Macedonia – Bigorski monastery, with its wood carved iconostasis from 18th century. After drive along the lakes made by Black Drim river. Arrival and overnight in Ohrid.
Day 05 OHRID – BERAT - TIRANA
Crossing Macedonia – Albania border and drive to Berat, the city of 1000 windows, World Heritage site by UNESCO. Visit of Berat castle and Onufri museum.
Departure to Albanian capital Tirana. Afternoon Tirana sightseeing – the main square Skender beg, State opera and museum, the University square. Dinner and overnight in Tirana.
Day 06 TIRANA – KRUJE – OHRID
Morning departure to Kruje where the castle of Albanian hero Skender beg is situated. Visit of the museum and picturesque bazaar in Kruje. Short stop in Elbasan. In the afternoon drive back to Ohrid. Overnight in Ohrid.
Day 07 OHRID AND OHRID LAKE
Ohrid and Ohrid lake are part of UNESCO world heritage. The city of Ohrid is known as “a city of 365 churches”. Visit of the most important Ohrid churches and sights – the Church of Mother of God Peribleptos, the Icon Gallery, Ancient theatre, The Ohrid fortress of Tzar Samoil, the Holly area of Plaoshnik with St. Klement’s church, the unique church of St John – Kaneo and the biggest Ohrid church St. Sofia. Time at leisure in old Ohrid. Afternoon drive along the Ohrid lake to St. Naum monastery. Visit of the monastery. Overnight in Ohrid.
Day 08 OHRID – BITOLA – RILA MONASTERY – SOFIA
Morning drive to Bitola, the second largest city in Macedonia. Bitola city tour – the Clock tower, Turkish bazaar, covered market and the main square. Visit of the ancient site Heraclea Lynkestis, a city established by Philip II, the father of Alexander the Great.
Departure to Bulgaria and the Rila Monastery/10th c/, UNESCO World Heritage site, the largest and the most impressive Bulgarian monastery. Tour of the monastery complex and visit the main church.
Proceed to Sofia - the capital of Bulgaria. Accommodation and overnight in Sofia.
Day 09 SOFIA
Sightseeing tour of Sofia – a city with 7000 years long history, concentrating numerous cultural and historic monuments from different periods. Visits of the Alexander Nevsky Cathedral, the St. George Rotunda from the 4th century, the St.Sofia Basilica, the Ruins of Serdica. Visit the Boyana Church, included in the UNESCO list of World Cultural heritage. The world famous frescoes in the Boyana church played an important role in the development of medieval Bulgarian and European painting. Overnight in Sofia.
Day 10 SOFIA – KASANLAK – VELIKO TARNOVO
Departure to Veliko Tarnovo via Plovdiv and Kasanlak. Stop in Plovdiv and sightseeing in the old town. Proceed to Kasanlak. Sighseeing in Kasanlak. Visit the recently discovered Thracian golden treasures in Kazanlak Historical Museum. Continue with one of the UNESCO’s sites – the Thracian Tomb dating back from the 4th c.BC. Departure to Veliko Tarnovo via the historical Shipka Pass. Overnight in Veliko Tarnovo.
Day 11 VELIKO TARNOVO - BUCHAREST
Breakfast. Visit to the Tsarevets Hill and see the royal castle and churches. After proceed to Bucharest, Romania. In the afternoon panorama city tour of Bucharest: the Village Museum, the Arch of Triumph, the Victoriei square, Victoria Palace (The Government), the Romanian Athenaeum, the Royal Palace, the Parliament's Palace. Accommodation and dinner. Overnight in Bucharest.
Day 12 BUCHAREST - SINAIA - BRASOV
Breakfast. Departure to Brasov. On the way stop in Sinaia, the beautiful mountain resort in the Karpat mountains. Visit the Peles Castle, one of Romania's most beautiful palaces and the summer residence of the Romanian kings. Arriving in Brasov. Walking city tour of the medieval city visiting the Black Church, the Town Hall, the Black Tower, the White Tower, Ecaterina's Gate, Schei Gate and the Rope Street - the narrowest street in Europe. Accommodation and dinner. Overnight in Brasov.
Day 13 BRASOV - BUCHAREST
Breakfast. Departure to Bran for visit Bran Castle - Dracula's Castle. Departure to Bucharest. Afternoon free at leisure. Dinner in restaurant with folklore program. Overnight in Bucharest.
Day 14 DEPARTURE
Breakfast and transfer to the airport.
