Breakfast. Departure to the Rila Monastery/10th c./ , included in the UNESCO List of World Cultural Heritage, the largest and the most impressive Bulgarian monastery. Tour of the monastery complex, church and museum with its lavish collection of precious old manuscripts, icons, jewelry, masterpieces of woodcarving, an ethnographic exhibition of fabrics and carpets. Continue to Plovdiv - the second largest Bulgarian city. Dinner and overnight.
After breakfast city tour in Plovdiv – one of the oldest cities in the world. Sightseeing of the Old town with its 4000 years long history, National Revival architecture and excavations from Roman times. Visit of the ancient Roman Theater with impressive marble statues, decorative columns and arcades and the Ethnographic museum, seated in a majestic baroque house, typical for the region. Departure for Kazanlak, the center of the famous Valley of Roses. Dinner and overnight.
Breakfast. Visit the Rose museum - the Bulgarian oleaginous rose has gained fame throughout the world from times immemorial for its unique fragrance and the rose oil of best quality. Continuing with one of the UNESCO’s sites - the Thracian Tomb /4th c.B.C/ in the Valley of Thracian Kings. Drive eastwards to the Black Sea Coast and one of the major Bulgarian ports-Bourgas. Dinner and overnight.
Breakfast. Visit the old town of Nessebar included in the UNESCO List of World Heritage- situated on a rocky peninsula, linked with the mainland by a narrow stripe. Walking around well-preserved Medieval churches and typical for the National Revival houses, enjoying the left by different civilizations marks of their history. Departure to Varna - the largest and the most important destination on the Black Sea Coast, major tourist center, pretending to have the oldest gold in the world. Wine tasting of local wines, among with Dimyat – unique Bulgarian sort of grapes and wine. Dinner and overnight.
Breakfast. Visit of the Historical museum with its rich collection of more than 6000 objects, nearly 30,000 icons and unique golden items from the Varna Chalcolithic Necropolis. Continue to the Roman Thermae from the 2nd century, one of the biggest in the European part of the Roman Empire. Free time in Varna. Dinner and overnight.
Breakfast. Departure to the Madara Reider near Shoumen – included in the UNESCO List of World Cultural Heritage. Leave to the Royal city of Veliko Turnovo. Sightseeing tour of Veliko Turnovo, including Tsarevets hill - an impressive sight with its imposing Medieval fortifications and dramatic architecture; the Revival shopping street. Drive to the museum town of Arbanassi, visit of the Church of Nativity with its genuine art gallery of biblical scenes with over 3500 strikingly realistic figures. Dinner and overnight.
Breakfast. Leave for the city of Gabrovo with its open-air ethnographic museum Etura, a recreation of 19th century village with the old arts and crafts still alive. Departure for the town of Trjavna and have walk in the city, where vaulted stone bridges, houses, churches and the square with the clock tower preserve the spirit and talent of the artists from Trjavna School of art from the 17th century. Visit the Museum of woodcarving and icon-painting. Drive to Sofia. Dinner and Overnight.
After breakfast sightseeing tour of Sofia – a city with a 7000 years long history, concentrating numerous cultural and historic monuments from different periods. Visits of the Alexander Nevsky Cathedral with the richest collection of icons on the Balkan peninsula, the St. George Rotunda from the 4 century. Farewell dinner with folklore show in a typical folk-style restaurant. Overnight in Sofia.
